I really wanted to love this. It starts with so much promise, but is hampered by the fact that it's almost entirely opinion - and all that opinion is mostly coming from one small social circle. It wasn't nearly as thorough or nuanced as I'd hoped, but is still an important springboard for conversation and for that, I'm sure I'll be recommending it and returning to thinking about it.

“After all, Obi-Wan Kenobi was wearing a dress.” Gimme a break

Plenty to quibble over but about five chapters of this should be mandatory reading for the men—or men adjacent— of the world.
informative medium-paced

Liked the start, thought provoking in places. Second half felt like it was playing to stereotypes

Not sure how I feel about this one. As with all Moran’s writing, it’s an easy read, but a lot of the broad brushstrokes of ‘what men are’ felt a lot like Moran’s opinions, rather than anything with any research behind them.

Meh. It was quite obvious and also made a lot of assumptions about how men (and women) behave and think.
