Such a wonderful opening to the series. Terribly atmospheric - the characters draw you in to the world only for the zombies to remind you of your cynicism in the very next panel…

After watching the AMC series, it is cool to read the graphic novel that started it all. This is a really well done volume, and i'm looking forward to reading further into this series.

“It’s never going to be the same again. We’re never going to be normal.”

I absolutely loved how similar the TV show was to the comics. Some of the drawings were exactly how they shot some of the scenes in the show, my particular favourite being Rick and his horse arriving on the outskirts of the city. I also loved seeing some familiar faces – Glenn, Dale, Andrea, Carl, Carol, Sophia – all these characters had such complicated personalities and strong emotional connections with one another, it was great.

I also quite enjoyed seeing what the TV show decided to change. There were some characters in there that I had never heard of before – Donna, her husband Allen, and their twins Billy and Ben. Also, the order of events were slightly different in places, so it was interesting to see things play out in a way that I didn't expect.

I’m not going to lie though, this new obsession I have will not do good to my bank account. I have the urge to just buy the next few and fly through them all…all 193 of them.

Having nothing to do, I stumbled upon this on my Laptop. Seemed okay-ish to me. I just don't understand all the hype. This is almost just your run of the mill zombie story, albeit a decent one.
