A lesser Tintin. Too much dialogue and goofy slapstick. It feels like an overly long setup for the next book.

A bit tedious. And the print in this one for some reason seems just a little bit smaller. But we are all of a sudden solidly in speculative fiction and going to the moon. How does Tintin top going to the moon? There is some impressive nuclear gobbledygook. And of course some general silliness. I hope Professor Calculus continues to use the hearing aid, because him and the Captain talking past each other is one of my least favorite parts. But all in all a kind of fun ride. 3.5 of 5.

A long *long* time ago, this particular comic got me interested in rocketry. Re-reading it years later: Interested again.
