I’ve been staring at this book for a couple years now as it sat pretty on my paperback since I specifically waited until all the books were out to read these, aware of what SMB does to readers.

THIS BOOK DID NOT DISAPPOINT

My emotions reading:
First quarter: intrigued
Second quarter: getting addicting
Third quarter: I can’t put this down
Fourth quarter: !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Worldbuilding is fantastic. I’m SO interested in the world she’s created.
Characters are everything and more. Brexley definitely survived a lot in this book and clearly, it’s the start to more. Warwick is everything booktok and facebook is making him out to be - mysterious, humorous, enticing. I can’t wait to know more about him. Secondary characters are great.
PLot - oh my lordy it’s soooooo goood. I was hooked. I LOVED the prison scenes, and THAT ENDING

What more can I say about this other than to go read it? It’s awesome and I’m so pleased I waited for all them because now I’m hopping right into Wild Lands.

Ok I’m so glad the unique plot kept me going thru the first fourth of this book because waiting for the Brex’s character development was worth it! That’s definitely what surprised me the most. I was sure she wasn’t going to get off her special snowflake high horse and then … let’s just say she goes thru some biggg shit and then some.
Plot is super interesting and unique which really got me going, I can’t wait for more world building in the next installment.
Also, I kinda knew that last plot twist was coming, but I really appreciated it, makes me actually want to read the second book (which has unfortunately been rare for me with series recently).
Lastly, though you maybe initially off-put by the MC’s large ass ego or her stupid actions, the parts that could use some editing, or the seemingly unnecessary amount of horn language (really the word-choice got me laughing my ass off and rollin my eyes geez), the book is worth it for the plot and Bitz (I love Bitz).

Wow i read this book so quickly i was deep into it. Its really fast paced, the MC is not so original but her story is Well build. I saw some reviews saying that we can easily see that this is an independant edition but since my first langage isnt english i didnt notice it, to me it was smoothly written and really reach my imagination. It was very dark but it doesnt become too « gore » and dramatic. I think the story is original i read a LOT of Fantasy books and i could see some really different stuff. I really love the loving story is very slow burn and its confusing wich i like, because when I know with who the MC will end from the first chapiter its a downside to me. A really good read.

The most extended intro to the real story I have ever read, wtf? The whole "plot" could be put into 30 pages and added to the 2nd book and nothing would be lost.
