I love this book and Walter Moers as an author generally. I had read it once before in German and wanted to see if the translated versions of Moers books get up to the standard, which this one really did. I only had forgotten how violent this book is at times but that doesn’t take away from the fact that it is beautifully written and allows the reader to get fully emerged in the story!

This is just the perfect Hero's Journey. It has such a lighthearted spirit while still making you feel deeply for its characters and building up this fantastic world. I legit cry a bit every time I finish this, especially when listening to the absolute masterful audio book.

📝 Rezension:
Zamonien in Reinkultur.

Even better than the first of Moers' "Zamonia" series. Tales of love and laughter and partnership and romance all from the point of view of a mouse (a rat? some sort of rodent at least, if my memory serves me well). It's such a shame I don't speak German, or else I'd be laping up the rest of his books in a heartbeat.
