Promosso a pieni voti ❤️

I wanted to like this because I follow the author but unfortunately the writing needs more work, more plot, better character development and less tropes. I found myself skimming passages and cringing at the spicy scenes. The whiplash of the main characters going from pleasant to angry in the same breath… ESH!
This needs way more work and editing to be a better story.

It was really interesting to discover the story of Anastasia and Rasputin from this point of view !!
One thing is sure, Anastasia’s story never was truly happy and the way it was written was great, it was like seeing the Romanov’s bring their destruction on themselves as they did during the twentieth century. Everything is well rounded, the plot, the characters, the emotion, the magic !!

I think, sometimes it’s not necessary to speak too much, just go read it and enjoy a wonderful story of Russian history full of magic, belief, questioning, anguish, and most of all love

This book was such a fun ride! Both MCs were given rich backgrounds and took personal journeys throughout the novel. The background of the familiar but completely refreshed Romanov Russian was well detailed. Anastasia’s growth from fragile woman to heroine was delicious. Fun scenes of magic and spice kept me hooked as I rooted for our girl to burn everything down!! Highly recommend! Can’t wait to see what Molly writes next.

Does this have all my favourite tropes? Yes, yes it does.
- Enemies to lovers
- One bed - oh no!
- "I will kill whoever did this too you"
- Kick ass woman, coming into her power

Based just before the Russian revolution, Anastasia is born, unfortunately she is cursed with the magic that follows through the blood of the Romanovs leading to a sequestered life. Until one day her dad decided to use her as a weapon.

A spin on the Russian Revolution that seems to have a bit less death of children and more focus on magic and sexy men.
The Tsar is still a dick.
