Meditations on the nature of Power drawing on continental philosophers like Luhmann, Weber, Heidegger, Nietzsche and Foucault. Han seems to have a particular preference for spatial metaphors for Power. Carefully distinguishes between power and violence, between power and domination and how power manifests via mediation. Reconciles power with freedom.

Will definitely need to revisit after understanding Heidegger and Foucault.

As a non-philosopher without the background context needed for this book, this rating can not really be taken as a “I agree/disagree with his points” and is more of a “how much did I feel I was able to get out of it”.

With that being said - I don’t think there are very many interesting points being made, and I don’t think they are sufficiently complex to be written about in such a dense language.

Like the whole “true power is when the alter wants what the ego wants” is truly beat in to the ground. And in a such a way that it felt INCREDIBLY disheartening whenever I had to parse his arguments, just to get to the same point being made over and over.

Idk

I have no idea how to review this book. It was at times intriguing and insightful, and yet at other moments, it was a tedious slog. There's no real introduction to ease the reader in, it jumps straight into the discussion which assumes a lot of prior reading. I haven't read a great deal about the subject of power, however, after reading this I would really like to. And I may read it again, once I've read some more on the topic

não concordo com tudo e achei um pouco ~abstrato d+, mas daí é problema meu que não sou da filosofia mesmo. senti que repete as mesmas frases/argumentos algumas vezes pelos capítulos. mas no geral uma leitura interessante.
