A little heavy-handed with the "ice queen" and "god's gift to women" stuff, but pretty good.

Animal Attraction begins with us getting to know a little bit about Jade and Dell. They work in the same Veterinarian clinic, and have a mutual attraction to each other that neither of them want to act on. But when Jade decides she must go back to her family things start to shift in their relationship. And when she starts having flashbacks of past horrors things take a turn for the worse. Now, Jade and Dell must deal with the past if they are ever going to have a future.

Animal Attraction was really good. I loved the humor, the plot, and most of the characters. It was a very interesting story with lots of drama. I really enjoyed Jade and Dell together as well. They made a very good couple, and a powerful working team as well.

The only issue I had was the book was about Jade leaving. That just didn't make sense to me, and I felt like the way Jade handled it was kind of dumb. It really bugged me, but I loved the end. It was really sweet, even though it doesn't give us a lot of details of what happens with them it still ends with an HEA.

Just another great romance by Shalvis. I really like the Animal Magnetism series, even though I'm completely reading it out of order, and like most Jill Shalvis books, I wish I could live in one of these great towns she creates, surrounded by all these hunky men who love animals. ;)

The story of Jade, Sunshine's vet clinic's receptionist, and Dell, the charming vet and her boss.

Jade's post at the clinic was supposed to be temporary only and after a year and a half of working there, she is finally ready to move back home, or at least she's caved to her family's pressure to return.

The reason she moved there was to get over
Spoilerher trauma of being held at gunpoint by someone who wanted to rob the medicine cabinet at her family's clinic where she worked
. She still hasn't found a way to do that, and when Dell, who unexpectedly discovers her secret, offers his help, she accepts.

They've been attracted to each other since they first met, but Jade's mind wasn't in relationships then and she has since learned that Dell doesn't do relationships, while Dell thinks she's not interested in him.

Her imminent departure and the time they spend closer together urge them to give in to the attraction between them, and their friendship soon turns into much more.

Both of them have their own set of issues to work through, however, Dell's abandonment issues and Jade's trauma among them, before they can reach their happily ever after.

An engaging story with a pair of competent, flawed characters and a realistic romance. Next in the series comes [b:Rescue My Heart|13111765|Rescue My Heart (Animal Magnetism, #3)|Jill Shalvis|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1337059730i/13111765._SY75_.jpg|18285329] and the story of Dell's brother Adam.

Animal Magnetism Series Book #2

Fun, Contemporary Romance read. Loving this author and the 2 series I have been reading through so far by her. The women are easy to relate to, the men are Yum. Great reads.

Cute, solid cute & fluffy
Delivers what the package promises.

Jade had left Chicago running from something traumatic and made herself a new home in Sunshine, Idaho. But now her time was up and she needed to go back to Chicago. Her family needs her.

But the sparks between Dell, her boss, and her was no longer possible to ignore. And was she really ready to leave all her friends in Sunshine. And could she leave Dell?

I read and enjoyed Slow Heat by Shalvis, and this was instantly available as a library ebook, so I thought I'd give it a try. It wasn't as good as Slow Heat, but it wasn't terrible either. The good: a St. Bernard named Gertie and a kitten named Beans! That is the best name for a cat. Also? No one gets kidnapped! The medium: The main characters were ok. I didn't love them but they weren't awful either, just sort of boring. Jade wasn't oversexualized, which happens in a weirdly hight number of romance books and Dell was your average brawny vet with a heart of gold (because of course). The setting in the Bitterroot Mountains could have been better, but for a contemporary cozy, at least it wasn't conservative either. The bad: The conflict was sort of dumb and boring (just two people having regular misgivings). But the worst was that in the beginning of the book, the two main characters already know each other and are already flirty. I like the meet-cute and the build up to the flirting with banter and the getting to know you bits. Starting where this did seemed like a let down. Beans! :)
