I liked this, but I don't think I liked it as much as the first. The miscommunication just seemed to drag forever between Jade and Dell. Maybe I would have liked it better if I hadn't just finished a historical romance that had the same issue between the hero and heroine. Just talk to each other, damn it!

Still, I'm looking forward to the next installment with Adam!

Just another great romance by Shalvis. I really like the Animal Magnetism series, even though I'm completely reading it out of order, and like most Jill Shalvis books, I wish I could live in one of these great towns she creates, surrounded by all these hunky men who love animals. ;)

Jill Shalvis has a reputation for writing light, funny, sexy romances. Her latest, Animal Attraction, blows that reputation to smithereens. Make no mistake, Animal Attraction is funny and hot as hell. But it’s not light… it’s moving, empowering, and engaging. I’ve read it twice in the past month and both times it’s made me smile, sob, kiss my husband, and give my dog a big hug. It’s a great book.

In the previous books there were a couple of hints that Dell and Jade had definitely sparks between them, but they have both resisted acting on them, mainly because Dell is Jade's boss. He also has most of the single women from Sunshine and the surrounds chasing after him.

Jade found herself in Sunshine pretty much by accident. After a traumatic incident at her previous workplace, she got in the car and drove and ended up in the small town. She is over qualified for her job as office manager but she is happy, and she is good at her job. Thanks to her the office runs smoothly but her time in Sunshine is coming to an end. She has promised her family that she will return back home and pick up her old life again.

While Dell knows that there is a story, he also knows that Jade is not prepared to share it yet, no matter how hard she presses him to open up to him and no matter who is asking the questions. Jade has sort of held herself aloof from the other towns people too, even when people like Lilah reach out to her.

When it becomes clear that Jade is still scared by something that happened in her past, he offers to teach her some self defence techniques - nothing like a bit of body contact to get the adrenalin pumping and upping the ante on the sexual tension.

The dialogue between the two main characters and between Dell and his brothers was fabulous - it's something of a feature of Jill Shalvis' writing. This time though, it would have been good if Dell and Jade could have communicated with each other about their feelings a bit earlier.

Perfect Friday night read.

Dell is so on my book boyfriend list! Can't wait to read Adam's story.

Guilty pleasure - steamy and cute. Who doesn't love a man who is a sex pot and good with animals?

Both better and worse than the first book. Definitely liked the hero more and the dynamic was good, but lowkey some parts were boring and it took more than half of the book for them to finally have a steamy scene.

major trigger warnings for ptsd, flashbacks and an anxiety attack. The heroine suffered an unspecified attack previous to the time of the book and she's working through some of that trauma.
