Jade ran away from her job and her family in Chicago due to a life-changing, tragic event. She ended up in Sunshine, Idaho, working for Dell, the veterinarian in the area. She loves her job and has a crush on Dell, but she promised her family she would return after 18 months, which is coming up in just 4 weeks.
So, of course, Jade and Dell finally act upon their mutual attraction. But is it too late for them? Especially since Dell can't open up about his feelings and doesn't "do" relationships?
...
ANIMAL ATTRACTION is yet another feel-good book by Jill Shalvis. The writing is witty, there's plenty of romance, and you want to be good friends with the characters and spend time with them. Sure, there's a tear-jerking dark moment, but that just makes the ending sweeter.
I highly recommend Jill Shalvis when you're looking for a contemporary that will make you smile and leave you satisfied.

It was a cute love story made even better by the presence of the animals. I've read the first book in the series years ago when it first came out, and I got too busy with school to continue it. I'm so glad I picked it back up again. Like book 1, Animal Attraction gave me all of the warm feelings, and I was rooting hard for Dell and Jade to understand their feelings for each other. I can't wait to read Adam's story next.
pretty good. both character had good reasons to keep from getting into a relationship, but manage to be together .
Animal Magnetism Series Book #2
Fun, Contemporary Romance read. Loving this author and the 2 series I have been reading through so far by her. The women are easy to relate to, the men are Yum. Great reads.

Second in the Animal Magnetism romance series and revolving around a veterinary practice in Sunshine, Idaho. The couple focus is on Jade Bennett and Dell Connelly.
My Take
The cute, sex-on-a-stick, disarranged doc meets the super-efficient, super-organized woman and turns cute in a very white bread, light, and fluffy way. The kind of romance for the days you need to escape into strictly easy. Open that cover and home in on the doc who likes playing the field and the receptionist who plans to run.
Oooh, I never thought of that! That a vet could be so good at reading people from all the practice they have reading animals.
It's a different sort of "dating", with Dell teaching Jade how to defend herself using whatever is in her handbag. And he's wanting so much more, while the elusive Jade keeps slipping and sliding around his overtures.
The Story
It's the kiss of death, or almost for Jade Bennett. It's why she ran away from home, to come to terms with the old horrors in a new and safe environment.
A clinic in which her skills shine while her fears slumber.
Only it's a different attraction, one she must resist since she isn't, refuses, won't stay...really.
But then that urge hit, that need to outrageously protect the sexy Dr. Dell...and it opens up all sorts of attractions.
The Characters
Jade Bennett is the chic, snarky, and scarily efficient receptionist who's been working temporarily at Belle Haven for the past 18 months. Gertie is the 10-year-old St. Bernard who keeps her company. Peanut is the parrot who picks up the darnedest phrases. Beans is the kitten she takes home.
Dr. Sam Bennett is her worried cousin. Sandy is the manager from Urgent Care who's had to pick up the slack. Jade's mother is more of a control freak than Jade while her easy-going dad will probably work himself into the ground from his Parkinson's. Corey and Karen were hurt in an armed robbery.
Dr. Dell Connelly is one of three "brothers" working the Belle Haven veterinary clinic and this sweet-talker has quite the reputation for the ladies. Adam Connelly, former National Guard, runs search-and-rescue and more from the clinic. Brady Miller, an ex-army ranger, recently came home (Animal Magnetism, 1) and now flies the vet chopper to those far-flung ranches. Sol Anders is the foster father who took the three boys in and made them brothers and decent men. Keith is the animal tech, and Mike is the vet nurse. Bessie is the cleaning service. Reno and Kiwi are Dell and Adam's horses. Nila is the woman who abandoned her sons. Robby is the truant with major issues.
Lilah runs a kennel near Belle Haven and is the Humane Society. She's also one of Dell's closest friends and engaged to Brady.
Cassie is a local rancher; Michelle's son, Timmy, terrifies Jade, and they have the pregnant Rose; the single Leanne Whitfield has a plan that includes Sergio, her very sick kitten; Joe and Donna Mooreland have a litter of Labradors; Gil Roberto is the local mechanic worried about his German shepherd, Max; Holly Reid has been handling her dad's empire and rattles Adam; Mrs. Wycoff owns the bunny; Melinda runs a huge ranch up north and gets personal service from Dell; and, Stacy also has a kitten with lots of problems.
The Cover
The cover is a hazy autumn backdrop with a low-lying mountain in the distance and a bare-chested hunk whose khakis blend into the golden field holding a tabby kitten emerging from his crossed arms.
It's definitely an Animal Attraction for the animals, kids, and women attracted to Dr. Connelly.

Work your dream! Don't be like Dell and Adam's dad, working "a job he hated with a passion but kept to provide a roof over our heads".

it all started with an intense fear, a slutty man, and one adorable cat maned Beans.

Jade was damaged from a robbery at her work place. She ran to Idaho and took a job at a small veterinary hospital where she meets Mr. Sexual free ride to all the local woman. He a good looking man and a doctor who knows how to give and leave. They work together in relative friendship never going deeper. There was sexual desire, sure but she wasn't going there with Mr leaves them all. Everything is going fairly well till one kiss stirs up something a little more and draws them closer but not in that way. He tries to help her and she tries to shoe how strong she is. They ramble through all kinds of animals, people, spreadsheets and emotional battles. Don't worry there is a HEA.
I was looking for a light fun romantic read and this fit perfectly. It hit all the required points for fun romance.
1- I enjoyed the story, yes it had an actual plot, it went at a nice pace and was believable.
2- There were animals, can't lose there, especially Beans the cat, adorable.

3-The lead man is a emotionally scarred veterinarian, yep that's always a hit.
4-The lead woman was also a scarred individual with some OCD issues and yet was strong.
5-Great sex, yep they got it going nice and hot.
I am going to read the first book in the series now.

loved it!!!!!!!!!!!!! loved jade and dell and there relationship!!!!!!!
It was amazing. Adam always had to walk in at the wrong time but i fell in love with everyone and i was able to feel everything they felt. I just love the book
So this one was better than the first, by far, though it still suffers from the not much going on yet X amount of pages that must be filled conundrum that many romance novels have. I liked Dell much better than Brady and Jade wasn’t nearly as idiotic as Lilah. And there were much fewer mentions of ice cream (except for the conversation near the end of the book) that made it more tolerable.
