I cannot believe it took me so long to read this series! I’ve been telling myself for years that I will read them. I finally did and mourn the fact that I could have enjoyed it a lot sooner. The ending was terribly emotional yet a perfect ending for Will, Jem, and Tessa!
I can't. I'm sorry. I am a mess. 5 stars? 5 stars will never be enough. Just-- Wow.
This book reads like a first draft and is badly in need of a strict editor. I started it some time ago and promptly shelved it in anger. The repetition is unbearable!(I don't need reminded of a character's hair colour on every page!)I'd planned on trying to pick it up again at some point but I just can't imagine ever finishing it, it's too annoying! Even now I'm irritated just thinking about it, so it has been moved from my To-Read list to my Unfinished pile. I can't help feel this was churned out. A real disappointment.
The book was the perfect conclusion to the Infernal Devices trilogy. I loved the poetry and the plot, the dialogue, the internal turmoil, Jem and Will and Tessa and I even loved the cheesy epilogue.
