3rd time read -
I lovvvve this book. Jane is just so cheeky and I adore her for it. Catherine is the most lovely heroine who never goes back on her word and has no fear for showing her passions. I’m always just so impressed with her courage to say what she feels and her judgement to know when a character is a bad one. Also… Henry Tilney, am I right?

Let us not forget “The person, be it man or lady, who has not pleasure in a good novel, must be intolerably stupid.”

My favorite Jane Austen of all time :)

This was certainly not my favorite Austen, but it was still very good. John Thorpe is probably the second most irritating character I have ever read (bonus points if you can guess the first). I did have to remind myself a few times that Catherine was only 17, she did have some pretty dumb moments.

4.5* this is such a cute and charming stoey i really loved it

It pains me greatly that this gets classified with Austen's juvenilia and is disparaged by scholars when it strikes me as a meticulous, deliberate novel, which was hugely revised by Austen in maturity
