4 psych-hockey stars

It’s something about hockey romances that seem to work. Aiden is the hockey captain, fully committed to just the sport, to the point of starting to burn out. Summer is the academic psychology student, fully committed to her masters application, to the point of stressing herself to the max.

They are thrust together for a psychology study Summer has to conduct and while both dislike each other at first, that soon changes.

I liked how their relationship progressed. I liked the side characters, I liked the bit of drama, I liked most of this book. And I liked how they treated change in dreams. That’s all!

I am a massive fan of sports romance books and this one did not disappoint. I believe that this is a debut book by this author and what a way to show up to the book community with this banger of a book.

This is a romance book set in an American college. All the characters are adults and there are strong themes throughout as well as some spicy scenes. I know this won’t be for everyone but I thoroughly enjoyed it, so much so that I read it in 4 hours, it was that good.

The style in writing was easy and flowed so well I was halfway through the book before I even realised. The characters were diverse and fun, as well a dealing with their own issues. I like that even though the book was focused around Summer and Aiden we got to see their social group of friends and family that just added to their characters. As always secondary characters to me are massively important and I was not let down at all! Summer’s friends what we saw of them were hilarious but it was Aiden’s hockey teammates as well as roommates that made me smile and laugh.

The spice I felt in this was top tier. It was slow burn for a fair bit of the book and that added to the tension between the characters and I am so here for it!

Honestly such a fun and entertaining read from this author and I’m excited they this is book one so we get to see more of the characters and their shenanigans!

As always please check trigger warnings before reading.

If you like spicy sports romance, then this book is for you! If you don't want spice in your book, it's not for you at all!

I'm giving it 3 based on their story because I did really enjoy the characters. However, it has a lot of cussing and spice. that's just not for me.

The spice starts early on, and it's a recurring topic. However, it is not only explicite scenes but just their small interactions are very sexually charged at times. It took a lot , and I mean A LOT of skipping to read this to avoid spice.

Besides the spice, the dynamic between Summer and Aiden is great! The banter, their playfulness, and even their backstory is amazing.

Aiden is a golden hearted jock that can make any girl swoon, and we have to love him for that. If you love acts of service , you will love Aiden.

Summer is a tough nut to crack and can make you mad sometimes, but she still makes you like her in the end.

Honestly, this book could have been an easy 4 star for me if it had been closed door.
