Collide was such a fun time!

I was lucky enough to be sent a free finished copy of this book by Berkley Romance, and it didn’t disappoint!

There were definitely some things I wish were a bit different, but there were also lots of things to love!

I loved
💚 Aiden and Summer’s relationship
💚 the balance of lighthearted and emotional beats
💚 the family relationships
💚 Summer’s growth and development

Things I wish were different
💚 I wish some of the side characters had a bit more depth, especially Amara, Cassie, Tyler, and Eli
💚 there were some one-off jokes that were referenced as if they were continual inside jokes, but that never popped up again
💚 I know that hockey teams are big, but there were so many boys in the hockey house that I couldn’t keep all of them straight

These things mostly bugged me in the first half of the book, and as it kept going they got less bothersome.

I will definitely be reading more from Bal Khabra in the future! 3.75 stars.

Very much gave Icebreaker 2.0 but the cast was more diverse and the MFC was just not lovable.

Had to get out of the reading slump but the funny scenes are the ones keeping this book 3☆. The main characters were lovable enough as well as the side characters but they had littlr purpose than to add the funny element and entertain the mcs from time to time. Also theirs scenes were a bit too cartoonish.

Loved the good communication between Summer and Aiden.

happy hockey season!! back in the hockey romance era (like I ever left) and Collide did not disappoint. Summer and Aiden had amazing chemistry - their banter was so fun from them starting off on the wrong foot to falling head over heels. Both characters were well developed and fleshed out, although I do wish we got to see more of Aiden’s growth or the pacing of it was dragged out a little more. He’s such a golden retriever and grew so quickly from being cocky confident jock to caring humble man. Summer was such a great FMC, she was funny, driven, and complex - I love her a lot. She really embodied black cat energy and I will always have a soft spot for fellow psych girlies.

overall, this book was fun, a little emotional, and spicy. if you loved icebreaker, this is better. if you didn’t like icebreaker, this one won’t disappoint you.
