I love watching the boss man fall. I love Killian and Devyn. I love how they support and love each other. I'm so excited to see what happens next in the series.

This is the book I’ve been waiting for most in this series. Having read all the Norcross books, Killian was first introduced in that series and his journey to a happily ever after was perfect for him. Of course, there was no shortage of action and adventure and Devyn was no damsel in distress. I loved that both Devyn and Killian were able to save themselves and vowed to also save each other. They made a great team.

Killian and Devyn met years ago in the CIA. Killian was just getting out and Devyn was just getting started. Over the years they ran into each other carrying out their own ops, but when an assassin is after both of them, they finally get the chance to work together. I loved how determined they both were to keep each other safe and unharmed. I also loved that Killian recognized Devyn was just as capable as he was. Killian was determined to finally have a relationship with Devyn and made that clear while still considering her feelings and her checkered past.

One of the things I love most about Anna Hackett is they way her series crossover. I knew this would be one that had some crossover because of Killian’s sister’s relationship with one of the Norcross men. I always love getting a glimpse of Vander Norcross and Killian is definitely his equal.

This book was quite the adventure. There were so many cameos and nonstop action. A great read and never a dull moment.

We always knew that when the boss man (AKA Killian Steel) finally got around to making a claim on Devyn (AKA Hellfire) that there would be all kinds of fireworks.  Devyn does NOT play well with others and being open with partner, even one as protective as Steel, is just something that she can't do - yet!

But once again the worlds of Sentinel Security and the CIA collide.  Someone has Devyn and Killian in their sights and they won't rest until they've been removed from the game.  Killian likes fast and costly cars and the poor lad is going to have to buy a few new ones by the end of this adventure!

Bram and Devyn become the unlikeliest BFFs after a near miss almost takes them out. The chemistry between Steel and Devyn is sizzling hot, the adventure is top notch and tightly plotted.  I love the camaraderie of this group and the banter is amazing!

There are a few snippets of likely stories for later books and Shade lives up to his name!  I can't want for more!

 5 stars - I loved it!

Well this book started with a lot of action and never slowed down! CIA agent Devyn “Hellfire” Hayden is one of the CIA’s best deep-cover agents. When she finds herself being attacked by an assassin who is targeting intelligence agents, it sends right to Killian “Steel” Hawke, the one man who tempts her.

I loved this book! I have been waiting for Killian to find love since he was introduced and I am so glad we didn’t have to wait until the end of this series to get it. Killian is a protector who takes care of everyone he considers his. With Devyn though he realizes that it's the first time someone protected his back. I loved getting to know Killian and seeing how much he cares about Devyn. He has been falling for her for years and this attack prompts him to finally act on it. The best part though was that while he didn’t love for her to be in danger, he knew how good  she was and let her do her job. He never stops her from being herself and instead acts as backup.

“I feel like I’ve loved you forever, and if you let me, I’ll love you for the rest of our lives.”

Devyn was a kickass heroine. She is extremely skilled at her job and has no problem throwing herself into danger, especially if Killian is in trouble. I really love her. She had a terrible upbringing but it pushed her to be a better person. Killian is the one person who Devyn trusted enough to let her walls down around and fall in love with. Killian and Devyn’s relationship was intense, fast paced, and very romantic. They had a great partnership that worked perfectly on and off the field. I also really loved seeing the epilogue and the glimpse of how their life was after she left the CIA.

Overall, I loved this book and this couple. I can’t wait to read the next book which hopefully will be Bram’s because I am so ready to get to know that grumpy man.
