I don’t know that I’ve read a book like this before… it was strange and dreamlike. I enjoyed it a lot: it felt like ready a mythology mixed with a dream. The whole thing reminded me of the Cloud Atlas movie. I didn’t understand everything that happened, but the book somehow made me feel alright with that. I didn’t understand exactly what the owl king was or who it was; I didn’t understand what it meant that the cycle seemed to start over at the end with the friend; and I didn’t fully grasp whether the starless sea was the universe or what - yet I still really enjoyed the book. It was a unique blend of surrealism and mythos alongside an intriguing love story and conglomeration of other stories. I feel like I may read it again sometime.

Loved loved loved I loved this book I loved the interrupted flow of stories within stories wrapped into and over and above and below other stories and I savored it.

I think i will like it even more when i reread it.
Elimden bırakamdığım, kitabı bitirince boşluğa düşüp keşke seri olsaydı dediğim bir kitap. Karakterlerle çok bütünleşiyorsunuz, hem maceraperest hem de dedektif gibi hissettim. İlk başta post moderni andıran hikaye ve zaman atlayışlardan kitabı okumakta zorlanmıştım ancak alışınca fark ettim ki bu kitap için en uygun teknik bu. Kitabı özel kılan özellik de bu. Gerçekten çok güzelce yazılmış bir kitap.

This is not the book to listen to while you're walking your dog, and then pause for a few weeks at a time while you check it out from the library again. I actually am not sure what happened during most of this book, but it was lyrically written.
