What can I say, I loved it. It took me 2 weeks longer than I planned to read this, but only because I was enjoying the writing and plotting so much and didn't want to rush through it.
Love the narrative style again, with the story being told from two perspectives. There were more footnotes than in the first book, which is amazing because I live for the footnotes in these books. Loved the characters to pieces. All of them. The heroes and the villains equally. Although it's getting harder to tell who is who tbh. And I'm loving all the gray areas.
I just saw that people were disappointed the story centered around different characters than the first book. But hello?!?! These characters are equally fantastic, as is their story and the world building. There is so much diversity and LGBTQ+ representation and just cool ideas. Not to forget all the different strong (intelligent, funny, resilient, vulnerable) female characters and all the friendships. I mean WOAH! And I love how things start to slowly come together.
Can't wait to start the next book (which is already next to me on the desk while I'm typing this).
