This was such an emotional and touching story about the pains of growing old. I looooovvvvved the art style here and loved the different hues of dark blue portraying nostalgic memories. The darker and muted colour palette definitely set the tone for the story and I think the art was flawless.

I wish I could say the same about the story, but it is unfortunately not the case. The only little flaw, in my opinion, would be that the story is too short. I wanted to know more about Gerda Wendt and I wish her life was more fleshed out in the story. She's so interesting!! I just want to know more about her life, but this book mainly only focuses on one part of her life and I believe there were other moments of her life that deserved just as much attention. I wish her whole life was not reduced to that one summer. I wish the different nuances were shown a little bit more.

I still liked the overall story and really loved the bird symbolism, but I think this comic would've been so much better if more details were added and if the story delved deeper into the life challenges the main character encounters.

Beautiful to look at, kind of sad. A elder looks back at her life. She was a physicist or astronomer in the 1970s.
