I am a bit too old to be part of the video game generation but I have played quite a few computer games in my time. And I have heard all about how video or computer games are evil. EREBOS is the first one that I have ran across that would actually qualify for that title.
Ms. Poznanski has created a wonderful hero in Nick who is easy to like, and even worry about when he is caught in the grip of the game as it becomes like crack and he will do almost anything to be able to play. The rest of the characters are also very well designed and keep the story moving right along.
I can easily see why EREBOS became such a best seller in Germany. Just thinking about the game is enough to send chills down my spine because I can see something like this game happening for real. I almost want to hide to book away to keep evil masterminds from getting the idea. Of course since they are evil masterminds they probably already have this in mind.
EREBOS is an incredible young adult book that will appeal to readers of all ages. There is some violence but it not of the in your face variety. My only warning is that this book will not allow you to set it aside. I rate this book a 4.8 and highly recommend picking it up. You will never look at a computer game the same way again.

Außerdem waren meiner Meinung nach zu viele Plotholes und das mag ich nicht.
Ten konec mě dostal! Měla jsem určitou představu, jak by tato knížka mohla skončít. Ale to co se tam stalo bych si asi přestavit nedovedla.

Das Buch hält sich sehr am Weltenbau (insbesondere des Computerspiels) auf und braucht daher lange bis die eigentliche Handlung einsetzt; das Ende hingegen ist dann recht rasant. Ein guter YA-Thriller, bis auf die stereotypen Charaktere, die man so oder so änhlich wohl in jedem Teeniefilm oder -buch findet, und die gestelzt daherkommende Jugendsprache.
Originally had to read this for school but honestly it was one of the most thrilling books I‘ve ever read. Especially if you usually don‘t really like crime nor thrillers(like me), this the perfect book to have a thriller-like experience. Poznanski is one of the most genius authors I‘ve ever read.

If you like Video games and fantasy books with a bit of crime it will be a rly good book for you
Schön spannend, gutes World Building, Auflösung etwas vorhersehbar, trotzdem schön gemacht. Werde ich im neuen Schuljahr mit meiner Klasse 9 lesen. Bin gespannt!
Ich hatte richtig Lust auf das Buch und die ersten 20 Seiten haben mir sehr gefallen und waren sehr spannend und ich war so interessiert.
Leider ist es dann für mich so langweilig geworden. Es ging mir zu sehr um das Spiel. Ja ich weiß, das hätte mir schon von Anfang an klar sein sollen, aber das hat mich so gestört. Ich spiele keine Computerspiele und dann wurde immer wieder darüber geredet und das ganze Spiel wurde beschrieben, da konnte ich einfach nicht weiter lesen.
Nach 90 Seiten habe ich es dann abgebrochen.

i really liked the plottwist! did expect a bit more scaryness but the idea behind the book is INSANE
