Excellent essays/memoir that focus on processing the world with open eyes. Everyone needs to read this book, whether they already read this way or not. This is one of those books that I wish I had the energy to write a super long review for. Oh well. Picture long paragraphs of praise and commentary here.

One of the simplest ways to check how much the surrounding culture is trying to bias you is to reverse all the people in whatever you’re looking at, see it in the negative, and smell. I’ve got over fifty years practice at it.

Came for the Didion slander, stayed for the insightful commentary and fresh perspective.

Not a hot-to guide, more of a exploration of writing in many different parts. Really interesting stuff. It made me check out HBO's Watchmen series, which was great, and gave me some backstory on a few things I wasn't really aware of.
