Not bad for a Marvel space book. But that's mostly because much of the book didn't take place in space. I like Sam more now that they've let him mature some. And in this one he gets to get his helmet fixed and finally find his dad. The bits with Doc Green were surprisingly good. The Black Vortex was just a snippet. An okay read, better than I expected. 3.5 of 5.

This was a really fun series, I enjoyed Sam's adventures as the new Nova of the Marvel Universe.

This series is pure gold.

Nova Volume 1: Origin: Holy shit I've never heard of this Nova guy but he's great.
Nova, Vol. 2: Rookie Season: Not as funny as the first volume but still amazing.
Nova, Vol. 3: Nova Corpse: Meh, this was a filler.
Nova, Vol. 4: Original Sin: Everything is beautiful.
Nova Vol. 5: Axis: My favourite of the series, I couldn't stop smiling and laughing. Tip: don't read this around people.
Nova, Vol. 6: Homecoming: A slightly rushed ending but I loved it none the less.

I can't recommend this series enough.

God, such a great conclusion to this run of Nova. I absolutely adored Gerry Duggan's writing for 3 through 6, although the artist for the latter half kinda made Sam look like a skinny dweeb at times, after he was drawn as a more muscly kid for the first couple of trades. The humour is great, it's action packed and fun, and Sam was a wonderful teenage superhero to follow along with as he made a name for himself as one of the Novas. I'll probably wait till the most recent reboot of the series is released in its first trade and pick that up, but I'm also planning on reading Ms Marvel and All-New, All Different Avengers, so I have a feeling I won't be apart from Sam for too long.
