The writing wasn't something I enjoyed. I don't think this author is for me.

Not worth the time. I don't understand Jenna. In fact I don't understand this whole book. Well... for what I read. She sleep with Cas on her first day on the job. Don't say to anyone who's Noah father and Cas don't get that if the kid's age is 4, almost 5 that he might be the dad?

This was one of those late-night, spur-of-the-moment books I picked up on my Kindle because it had already been sitting there since I got it during Stuff Your Kindle. It sounded interesting, and I wanted to see the MC x Surprise Baby trope play out, but overall, it fell flat for me. I hated that it took the whole book to discover that the kid was Cas’s. Honestly, I think it would’ve been fine if this was a slow burn and Jenna was intentionally keeping Cas away from the kid to the point he was just never able to put two and two together, but that’s not what happens. Cas and Jenna get back together the second time they encounter each other. He didn’t grovel or beg or plead at all, and then, from then on out, they were pretty much inseparable. Plus, he was around the kid all the time.

On top of that, he would keep commenting about how the kid looked like him or how he wanted a family to step into that father role or even adopt him! So all the clues were, but he wasn’t asking or even trying to consider it a possibility. I wish the book started from the night they hooked up since it was one night. They both agree it was a mistake and to never talk about it again, then do a time skip to when she is forced to move back to this small town, but we jump right in as she moves back.

The other thing that drives me crazy about this is that I wish we had spent more time with the MC. I get Cas isn’t high up the totem pole, but he’s been with the club for a while now. We know the club is struggling, but we don’t spend that much time with them. We quickly get into the relationship bubble and don’t get that many things answered here. I really hate when books leave things unanswered, but I’m assuming that’s because they wanted to leave it open to flow into later books.

Ok

This one was really hard to get into. In the end, I'm glad I stuck with it and finished it. Made me want to check out the next in the series.

This book is OK. I have read worse MC stories but this just was so far off what I thought it was going to be.
The book isn't great if the MC is struggling. I just don't want to read that. I want success, just personally what I prefer to read.
The romance was weak. Sort of just shoved together. Just a little boring...
