This is a quick read which is good because once I started it, I couldn't put it down. The writing is sharp, the blood is plentiful, the body horror delightful. I loved Molly's parents a lot, and the glimpses of dystopian worldbuilding were delicious icing on the gory cake. Loved it.

Honestly, if I had gone into it totally blind, it would probably be a five stars

What the actual hell did I read. At times interesting/OK to read, at times just too strange, at times I was just annoyed that we didn't get any explanation (which we got, a bit at least, at the end). It was quite disturbing. Quite gore-filled.

This book was so strange and sadly not my cup of tea. Sometimes I do enjoy weird books but this just didn’t do it for me.
I found the writing to be of basic description and the plot wasn’t executed in the way I expected it to be. Some things happened that made me feel quite uncomfortable and at times it felt rushed due to the short length.

Overall, a book I sadly didn’t enjoy and will forget quite quickly.

2.5-3 stars stars to The Murders of Molly Southborne.

I wanted to love this so much because i know so many people who loved it and raved about it, but unfortunately it just didn’t click with me. Even though this was a short novella, it took me a while to get through it because I had a hard time with the cadence of the writing and Molly’s detached voice.

I loved the premise of it (every time Molly bleeds a clone of her is born-and then she must kill it); it’s different than a lot of what is out there. I think it would make for a fun adaptation.

Even though I wasn’t the biggest fan of this, I would still recommend it if the premises interest a reader at all.
