This was completely absorbing. A great horror short story. The concept of the mollies was terrifying and I really loved Molly and how she related with other people. I'm definitely going to read the next one.

Mollys Mollys everywhere!
This was a fun novella. Short, intriguing, and action packed. The story within a story perspective was unexpected, but was the perfect fit for this type of plot. This is a quick trip through Molly's life as she deals with the most unusual circumstances, but there is so much more layered within this novella. This story was very different from his Rosewater series and I love how it was a very different type of science fiction/horror. It was brutal.
Beyond the horror elements, we see the lasting effects that someone's childhood can have on them and their ability to form relationships as adults. There is exploration of family dynamics and dealing with loss and grief. Molly's upbringing and her relationships with her parents was very complexed and thought provoking. There is also mention of the state of the world that lead to Molly's existence that everyone else seems to be oblivious of, which was interesting. The story manages to be fully explored while still delivering some level of mystery and leaving us with an open ending. It was great.
I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys horror and science fiction.
