This novella was about a girl with an usual problem, every time she bled a doppelganger was created and it was intent on killing her. Although how this worked was never explained, the author did an excellent job exploring the problems that this would create (for example, what happened when the girl got her first period). There was a lot of action (Molly was forced to kill her copies before they killed her) and suspense as the reader wondered how this was going to end. Molly was an interesting character with a lot of depth, the story of how she coped with her condition was suspenseful and interesting. There was a lot of material to analyze for symbolism (What do the Mollys represent? What does it mean that the main character had to keep killing parts of herself to survive?) but it could be enjoyed even for those who wish to read it at face value. I definitely recommend it to those that enjoy horror and suspense.

Such a great concept and very well executed. Molly is not like other girls, no really. Every time she bleeds, a clone of herself arises. The mission of those clones is to kill Molly. This novella mixes sci-fi with a dash of horror. It was darkly fun and gripping. It kept my interest until the last page. I’m glad to see there’s a sequel because I definitely want more of this story.

The concept is interesting. However, the dialogue is painfully awkward in several spots. "One day you can explain how it makes sense, you studying literature and anatomy. And what the fuck, Molly?” Isn't it quite common for university students to study a variety of subjects in their first years as undergraduates?

There are also too many loose ends for my taste. For example, I didn't understand why there were a dozen mollies after she had the flu or at other times when she didn't bleed. Were they the result of internal bleeding or emotional wounds from traumatic events?

Super quick read, super cool premise. I quite enjoyed reading this story about Molly Southbourne and her many, murderous mollys!! However, at times this novella felt like I was reading a cliff notes version of what could have been a stronger, fully fleshed out novel.

Interesting initial concept, eventual backstory, and good twist at the end. But the unexplained "cleaners" were simply NOT plausible.

This is definitely a weird little one. If you like strange sci-fi books with some horror elements, you will enjoy this one. I’m looking forward to book 2.
