This book has been on my radar for such a long time and tbh it fell flat...
I wanted more from this nook. Its a "novel" idea PUN intended - this book would have been brilliant as a full-length novel. There were just things that were not explained well and in general, just more that I wanted from this book.
I will be continuing with the series as it is a creepy and short series.

Exciting! And original. Answered almost as many questions as it poses. There is some closure, but not quite enough. The last revelations of the book left me wanting more rather than tying up loose ends
this is an interesting concept that at times pays off well but at others falls flat.
When Molly Bleeds another Molly comes to find her. Things always get violent.
Why? How? That’s not important. This is more vibes than substance and you know I’m not mad about it.
I wish Molly Prime had been a bit more flushed out . She comes across as a bit of a blank slate and I’m not sure if that is a choice that betters the story.
Still though for its short page count it delivers a visceral bloody punch.
Recommend for fans of black mirror and the twilight zone a good little what if.

I wanted to like this one a lot more than I did. This isn't a book I normally would have picked up, but it was the pick for one of the PageHabit horror boxes, back when I was getting it.
It's a cool idea though- I mean, can you imagine trying not to bleed because it means that another one of you is created? And can you imagine the doppelgangers running around when you're on your period? I have to admit, that was one thing I was really curious about. Is it constant doppelgangers running around for a week straight? Does it depend on the flow too, or is it the same no matter what? I'm not sure why this particular thing is standing out, but I am really curious.
Overall, I think it could have been expanded a lot more. It was really short, and I wanted more from it. I mean, we do get an explanation of what's going on with her, but it didn't do anything for me. I also couldn't connect with Molly, and I didn't feel anything- there wasn't any emotion to it, and it wasn't creepy or scary or terrifying the way I thought it would be.
It's a shame, because the idea is really cool, and it had a lot of potential to be absolutely terrifying but that wasn't something I felt when I was reading it. Obviously, it wasn't the right fit for me, and while I don't really get what the author was going for with this story, it could be a better fit for someone else. It has been a really long time since I read horror so maybe it's not really my thing anymore.
My Rating: 2 stars. It was okay, and obviously, this book and I were not meant to be. It is a really cool idea, even though I wish there had been more to it.

There’s a lot of blood on these pages
My fav thing was in the author bio where it said he likes to bake deformed bread

A disturbing little speculative horror novella, about a girl who generates an identical doppleganger every time she bleeds (yes, including her monthlies). The doppleganger always eventually tries to murder her. So Molly has gotten very, very good at killing and disposing of the mollies who come for her.
It gave enough answers to be a standalone, but it's a trilogy so I'm interested to see where it goes. Molly is a bit of an icy cypher, but the plot moves quickly and the mystery of why Molly is the way that she is and the horror of having to routinely murder your reflection (and her parents having to kill something that looks like their daughter over and over again) is disturbing enough to keep the pages turning quickly.
