I couldn’t put this book down! It definitely gave Bonds That Tie vibes right away but all shifters! This book had me on the edge of my seat and I’m still so curious about what’s to come! I do 100% suggest reading the novella first but such a great start to a series!
I know I’m a fast reader but not THIS fast-I finished it in a day😱 Even though the plot and writing weren’t groundbreaking, this book was too addictive!
In retrospect, the speed read was possibly because the book had more dialogues-which is easier to digest-than world building. The main casts’ personalities were quite predictable but the push-pull tension was frustratingly good😩 JUST GET TOGETHER ALREADY💥👊🏻
However, the lack of backstory grates on my nerves from time to time: what happened during their first encounter? No insta love yet they were destined mates? How old are they actually??
Despite so, I thoroughly enjoyed the book and will be finishing this series! Hopefully the novella will share more insights too!

It felt like I was reading about 15 year old high school kids most of the time, not the 20+ year old adults that the mcs were supposed to be. And I can't stop thinking about shark boy transforming on land and just flopping around, or how stinky he would smell after eating raw fish.
Will I read book 2? Probably. The last few chapters were a lot better than the rest.

The more I think about it, the more I realize that this is essentially an exact copy of the bonds that tie by j. Bree
-Both have girls on the run with some indescribable power that no one can ever know about
-They both have 5 boys who hate them
-Both take place at a university/ school for others of their kind
-And of course, the big bad is targeting the girl and, likely, only with the help of ALL of her boys can they defeat it.
The only difference is the bonds that tie was published first

Amazing
I devoured this book in 24 hrs. The characters are amazing, and so is the development of their relationships. I'm excited to see how this turns out

My gosh another good book I love being thrown in to a story , it's best you read the prequel before reading the first book to get some idea on what's going on it really helps 😉 , it's a good sorry and very interesting the main characters are loveable and hateable at the same time it's only getting better :3
So, this is turning out younger than the first. Earning that new adult tag. I inhaled it anyway. Savage is definitely the most juvenile but in a playful, animalistic way. I don't know if that makes sense but he gives into his wolf-like nature and nobody ever stopped him. Anyway, now we're in a school setting that's pseudo prison-like. I don't quite get all the guys nor their motivations but I like them. I wonder who the 5th dude is. Also the friend group created is awesome. Bu I"m glad they all have some adultier adults around because the dad is worse.
