Overall good, but was not a fan of the ending at all. The way Helana spoke and through about certain things also made me a bit uncomfortable at times.

A book for the adults that read about witches and magic as children... without that bitter aftertaste.

Juno Dawson crafts an incredibly well thought out, and shockingly realistic fantasy setting of witches and warlocks, hidden amongst us "mundanes". Her Majesty's Royal Coven is a book about sisterhood, friendship, prejudice and betrayal.

I really enjoyed this book until the last 10 or so pages when I realized the  intention would not be to conclude the story but instead to build the launching for the next book in the series.  Such a bummer. I really enjoyed the unique approach to this story. It was an easy light read. However,  instead of feeling innovative by the end it felt like yet another almost YA fantasy series with played out tropes.  I don’t know if I will read the next book or not. But this one was fun up until the end.
