The wizards are trying to cause trouble again by taking King Mendenbar's enchanted sword and try to take over the castle. Cimorene and the others have to stop them!
I would give this 3.5 stars. I felt like each book was kind of the same, and after reading them all in a row, I started getting a bit bored. I'm going to wait a bit before reading the last in this series.

[bc:Dealing with Dragons|150739|Dealing with Dragons (Enchanted Forest Chronicles, #1)|Patricia C. Wrede|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1385526967s/150739.jpg|1178402] was my favorite book when I was little, however I was never able to get the sequels till I was older. I read the second book a few years ago, but I just now read this one. I have been rating these how I think I would have if I was still a 9 year old little girl. I Enjoyed this book, but I don't think I would have liked it as much as I would have the first 2. The adventure to find the sword, was a little more muddled, but it still had all the silliness and characters that I adored. Still a solid book for an elementary girl.

Bk 3 in the "Enchanted Forest Chronicles" follows Morwen as she helps Queen Cimorene & King Mendenbar (two of the most ridiculously named main characters ever) find & retrieve the magical sword of the Enchanted Forest that the wizards have stolen. Another fun little YA book & one I'll be passing along to Amelia (she's TORN through the other two books. I barely finished this one in time to give to her.) It includes a ridiculous rabbit named Killer who continually undergoes polymorphisms as he consumes magical items that badly interact with one another...surely to the delight of the young reader. Unexpectedly, this book ends on a cliffhanger, with everything not neatly resolved.
I'd definitely recommend this to friends who are looking for good stories for their younger children. Quick, fun read.

This was such a disappointment to me because I loved the first 2 books so much. The author never wanted to write this one but needed a way to set up the next book and it was clear in her writing. The characters I had come to love felt flat and annoying, which is sad because the MC of this one was my favorite character in the series. The new character was annoying and served very little purpose. And the ending left me angry and wanting so much more and better for these characters. If you're looking to read this series, read the first two and take the happy and satisfying ending and skip the heartache of the rest.

This one was not as good as the previous two. The plot of pretty slow and repetitive and I ended up finding Killer to be very annoying (especially when listening on audiobook) because he contributed nothing and did and said the same thing over and over again. Definitely not Wrede's best work.
