I love pretty snarky boys and Felix does it best. He is hilarious and was a true champ when Max screwed up. I loved the angst and how hard Max had to work to win him over

Reread Via audiobook:
Joel Leslie: Sir... You are a genius. 5+++ stars

****Highly Snarky Recommendation****

For Fans of #Snark #Britishisms #SecondChanceRomance

Why read this book...

1. The Novelty...
This book is a bit different from Lily's other books. Whereas most of her books are always filled with humor and pretty low angst, this book takes a different, but still magnetic approach. There is an undercurrent of sadness that slowly transforms, but keeps it's mark nontheless. #NewAndImproved

2. The Format..
The book is divided into two parts, Before and After. The blurb pretty much tells you what happens in the beginning, but reading it adds a new layer, because you're expecting the outcome. It's like knowing your future, and you can't do anything about it. #AllTheFeels

3. Felix...
Felix pretty much dethrones whoover your favorite Lily character is. I would bet money on it. His vulnerability, his resilience, his strength and his self worth are just some of the characteristics that will keep him in your heart. #AuthorsPet

4. Max....
Max will probably hurt your heart. There is baggage, and hidden/suppressed feelings and hurt. He has to overcome alot to fix the mistake he did when he and Felix broke up. #RiseUp

5. The Humor....
You can't have a Lily book without humor. She is my Reigning Queen after all. Even with the underlying angstiness of the book, she excels in delivering one of the best funny lines to date. #LaughOutLoud

6. The Relationship...
IMHO, this book has the best character development in Lily's books. The progression of before and after, the way both MCs learn how to trust each other again, their coming together and their submission to their feelings was brilliantly written. #GoldStandard

7. The HEA..
*Le Sigh* . Heartwarming, sweet, funny, loving... the recipe for the perfect HEA, and the perfect ending to a perfect book.

#HappyReading

Felix and Max stole my heart in this one.
I loved it being broken up into the two sections and getting the full history of their relationship.
Felix's snark was out of control and the way he loved Max was so sweet because he didn't want to but couldn't help it.
Max broke my heart *smash smash smash*. He had to work so hard to bring Felix back into his life and even then it was even more work for them to trust each other again.

Oh this is a perfect example of why I love second chance romances. Max and Felix’s first go around as hook ups to careful lovers, I fell for them! They were both so closed off from the world but with each other they opened up. And I hated Max when he wasn’t careful with Felix’s heart. I found Felix so precious and deserving of the world. I wasn’t rooting for them for a bit because I hated how stupid Max was. Usually I hate second chance romances built off miscommunications. This had a few of them but it felt real, not contrived as they often do. Although I got sick of the constant interruptions to their almost love declarations in their second chance. I also found it realistic how one MC could think they’re in love with a friend, have that ruin their real love, only to realize they never loved the friend but actually loved the love they lost. It was awful for Felix but I kind of ate it up. The second chance to around was so swoony. Max tried so hard to woo Felix and show him how much he loved him. Felix deserved to be wooed and Max did it!

Four stars bc Lily’s humor is always too OTT for me at points. I also could’ve done without Max’s ex’s constantly showing up and making Felix feel inferior. I get it. Felix is different that anyone else Max has ever had. And usually I’m a fan of ill advised hookups during a second chance but I hated it here. It felt cruel for it to happen before their emotions were all resolved.

And then he kisses me. On Vauxhall Bridge in front of the world. Or at least five nosy pedestrians. And I kiss him back. This big, warm man who makes me feel safe and melts all the icy corners of my heart. And I know with a sudden deep certainty that this is it for us. This time we’re going to make it work because this time we’re coming into it with our eyes and our hearts open.

AH! Ok so I didn't read book 1 or 2 but please let me know if they are as good as this one because this was a win all around for me.

I LOVE when one character is a mouthy, snarky little shit and the love interest is absolutely enamored by it. Felix and Max had the best banter from the very first chapter. Their meet cute (and yes I consider their meeting a meet cute 100%) was so funny and there were multiple times while reading this book that I actually laughed out loud.

This was such a fun read in general. Max was on thin ice for the first 40% of this book but he really stepped it up and was so boyfriend in the last half. I liked how he put in the effort but was willing to sit on the sidelines if that's what Felix had wanted. Felix was everything to me. No notes, he deserves all the happiness in the world.

I also really liked how we got to see how they went from almost a couple to not to then the second chance. I feel like a lot of second chance romances start after the couples have been apart for a while so it was nice to actually see what the characters went through and how their feelings might be guarded the second time around.

So, I do. I tell him how much I adore him; how sad the years have been without him. I tell him how beautiful his eyes are and about the fullness of his red mouth. I tell him how I turn around a thousand times a day to tell him something and how it still surprises me that he’s not there. How it baffles me that someone I knew for so few months could have worked their way into the marrow of my bones, and there will never be any removing of him. I tell him I never want that.

I love them your honor.

Wonderful!!! This is possibly my new favourite by Lily Morton, and even though the previous two books in this series were incredible... this one still manages to absolutely steal my heart and become an instant favourite. I loved these two and honestly I really just want to read it all again from the very beginning. PERFECT. ❤️
