All those who died and were sacrificed, that was heartbreaking. Faro, Qwa, Ala, and others. I knew there was something up with that tea that Yona was giving Anoor. I just don’t know why Anoor didn’t realize it until after Hassa overheard, and she and Sylah came to save her. Jond and Kara were something else, but I understood Kara’s reservations. Jond was in love with Sylah, someone who did not love him the same, and he could not help it. I’m glad he got over it though. Hassa finding her father was amazing. All this time he was right there. Tanu? Sylah should’ve killed her instead of holding her hostage. Sylah was too one tracked mind to do what should’ve been done. The ending was a beautiful one. I really really enjoyed this trilogy.

Solid ending.
See, this time I actually didn't mind Anoor being kinda dumb, because it made sense
but some of the plot points reaaaally relied on convenience

muchhh better than book #2. however, the damage in book #2 was not completely undone with this book. while i was engaged with the story and development in this book, i did often feel lost because much of the politics and motivations of the characters were introduced in book #2, which i really didn't care for as i read, let alone enough to retain afterwards. there were also wayyy too many random characters to keep up with by name/tribe/affiliation.
since i'm already discussing negatives, i'll add that the pacing was a bit off. much of the conflict raised between two people was usually resolved within 1-2 pages, and had no lasting effect on the plot. as for the whole book, it did feel like 90% of it was just plotting and preparing, only for the final battle to fly by without much contention.
even though i was often lost, as i mentioned earlier, the fantastic character development for the main cast (even for the dude i don't fuck with) kept drawing me back in! i think if i read the books in succession, i would have been more attuned to this fantasy world. it's well written and expansive, but once i lost the plot, it was hard to find my place again. reader error methinks.. that being said yaaaay delicious wlw yearning yip yip hooray!!

Unfortunately, this went downhill from the previous two books in the trilogy. My favorite chapters were Hassa's. The way Jond and his love interest misunderstood each other went on for way too long. Anoor's excruciatingly prolonged passivity was boring. The book is also marred by sloppy writing (too many furrowed brows and other cliche beats), new POVs added at the last few chapters, and a needlessly vague ending for two main characters.
