Impossible to follow, poor writing, not invested in the story at all
rebecca yarros continues to make me question my intelligence. i don’t feel like these books should be as complicated as they are but alas i’ve finished another one of her books and am again left with so many questions.
while this book was much more entertaining than the last one, i am left disappointed as i got annoyed with all the characters again and want the next book in only the dragons pov (please no more chapters in the pov of imogen and rhiannon especially when yarros has given us no reason to be invested in those characters). i hate that i started to like xaden only for him to do the same thing in the last five pages of this book that pissed me off in the last five pages of the last book.

There was potential, and then you lost me. I thought the first book was amazing. The second book, eh. Now, this, dusappointing, I was upset and lost and didn't care for new characters.
Establish what you have and define them more. This felt like it was grasping strings for it to be the wrong strings and cut. Idk. This wasn't what I hoped it would be.
