I enjoyed reading this book for Excel’s identity development as an undocumented immigrant who wasn’t born in the Philippines nor the USA. I think Lysley Tenorio captured the feeling of not knowing where one belongs in the world, reflected in Excel’s uncomfortableness in SF and Hello City. I think there was just a lot of elements that made the plot confusing. The character development outside of Excel was not the best.
Moderate: Violence
Minor: Abortion and Drug use
