This was a beautiful written story. You can understand everything going on just at a glance but if you look deeper you can see the layers to the story.

I wasn't a fan of Dee (the daughter/sister) as she seemed to come visit from college with an air of self importance, I understand wanting the preserve your history but she walks all over her sister and mother. I was happy when her mother stood up to Dee.

You can see both sides of where Dee is coming from as well as where Maggie and her mom are coming from, Dee wants to hang the quilts to preserve them while Maggie will put them to use. One way is not better than the other, and both have their own merits.

This was assigned reading for my class but one I thoroughly enjoyed.
