I recommend reading “The Kind Worth Killing” before this book as parts of that plot are mentioned throughout the book. Was difficult to follow the characters at times but overall it’s another good murder mystery. Listened on audible.

This one was slightly better than the first one in some ways but not as good in others. Henry Kimball is back and hunting a pair of killers. After a former student hires Kimball to follow her cheating husband and his supposed mistress, they end up dead. But could these be linked to a school shooting in Kimball's past?
My biggest issue with this book is that none of the main characters/ POV characters are likable. The story I found was more interesting and twisty.
The narrator was pretty good, but not the best with voices. Overall a solid 4-star book.

This was better than I was expected, even though I really enjoyed the first. I just thought this one couldn't live up to the quality of the first. And it didn't, but it didn't fall far short. I don't really like the character of Henry or the motivations of most of the characters, even though that's partially the point of the books. This book didn't feel as fresh and original as the first and had more cliches that felt outdated and some even offensive. But I do still enjoy the thought processes from Lily and it was interesting to watch the twists/mystery unfold.
