I have to admit, I'm somewhat disappointed with this book. It was decent, but not as amazing as I was expecting. I felt like the romance was rushed and didn't make sense, and all of the other relationships felt really shallow. The sentiment is nice, and the writing was well done, but I just wasn't connecting with the story.

The concept of the book was unique, and I found it very compelling. I listened to the audiobook, which had multiple voice actors performing different parts. 
My main criticism is that the ending of the book was extremely abrupt, and we didn't get closure on any of our minor storylines.
Overall, I really enjoyed it.

The book obviously discusses death (and what it means to really live) for, essentially, the entirety of the text. There are some minor scenes referencing the potential triggers I tagged above but I didn't find it to be gory or gruesome or overly dark.
