my whole way throughout this book was such a fun journey . I loved how it was written and the plot itself but I lost a lot of my love for it with the ending .

the fact mateo dies due to the stove after he's previously mentioned felt flat to me . I loved the use of everything that was previously mentioned beforehand , but the fact that out of the two *he* was the one to die because of it didn't feel right .

overall I loved the characters we got to meet and the plot overall , it just fell flat with very certain but limited points .

Wonderful book, characters, worldbuilding! Would’ve just loved more in general

Even tho the title says they’re going to die, the ending is still unexpected and saddening. The way they die made me like actually cry.

First things first: Silvera has a major talent for characterization. Everyone in this book is now my best friend. The set up of this book is exactly like There There by Tommy Orange. The multi pov isn't my favorite, and I could have done without it. The bright side is that it led us into the worldbuilding aspects and how this construct affects society through individual experiences.  The ending annoyed me though. It did make me shed a tear. Some subplots were just completely unnecessary though. It was okay.

A really interesting book. I love the concept, but I do think it could have used a bit more editing to polish it. I have the collector’s edition, where it’s clear that Rufus’ parts were added in after the first draft and unfortunately this shows. Also, ate being so good and yet so anxious - I feel like this was done really heavily, we weren’t really given any reason for it so it felt kind of forced.

I would have liked to have closure for other characters such as Delilah. I really liked how you couldn’t tell how they died until it happened - there were lots of possibilities which kept you guessing. I also enjoyed how everyone was so interconnected even if they didn’t realize it.

My only complaint about this book is that the beginning is a little slow. But I love this book so, so much. It's one of my absolute favorites.

This book is very sad and very detailed, lots of plot twists, and i couldn’t finish it because it was getting long and boring. i won’t read again but i would recommend it to my friends.
