This ended too abruptly so instead of reflecting on the story I felt more confused.

Interesting premise, but the world building was confusing.

So… I couldn’t explain to you what this is even if I tried, yet, somehow, this was my favorite story in the series so far. I usually stay away from underwater things (cause it’s scary down there and this kinda proved that) but I wanna read more Mermaid Tails now. This was officially my introduction to obsessing over stories about black merpeople. This was super complicated and I didn’t understand a good chunk of the science, but I liked it a lot. The politics and humanitarian (is that the right word in this context? idk) aspects of the story were what really kept me intrigued and wanting to get to the end. Out of all the books so far, this is the one I would reread.
