This was like Mean Girls meets a slasher movie, and I couldn’t put it down! I didn’t think Lally’s newest book could top That’s Not My Name, but even though this was different, it was just as awesome!
Brooke Goodwin seemingly has it all. She’s beautiful, rich, comes from a prominent family, and she just found out she’s been accepted to Yale… but things aren’t as they seem. There was an incident at a party she threw earlier in the year, her parents haven’t looked at her the same since, and she’s been severely harassed by an unknown person ever since.
After months of being a recluse, she finally decides to take charge of her life again and celebrate her acceptance with her friends at a party. But when she and her best friend leave in her car, things take a deadly turn. The unknown stalker is now trying to run them off the road and is threatening their lives unless Brooke comes clean about what she did. However, Brooke is adamant that she didn’t do anything wrong. What starts off as a night of celebration quickly turns into a fight for survival.
- This has two timelines: before the “incident” and now
- One POV with short chapters
- Fast-paced and eerie… my anxiety was through the ROOF
- The way I felt from beginning to end gave me whiplash

Coming off the high of "That’s Not My Name", which I devoured and immediately slapped a shiny 5-star rating on, "No Place Left to Hide" had some pretty big shoes to fill. And while it didn’t quite lace them up the same way, it still managed to deliver a fast-paced, twisty YA thriller that kept me flipping pages like I was in a bookish speed race.
Let’s just say—don’t go into this one expecting a repeat performance. And that’s okay! This book stands on its own, with quick chapters, teen drama, and enough suspense to keep things interesting. It’s the perfect kind of summer read: light enough to enjoy in the sun but with enough bite to keep you hooked.
Now, about these teens… bless their hearts, but some of these characters were INSUFFERABLE. Like, “I’d vote you off the island just for breathing loud” levels. But honestly? That just added to the drama. I won't spoil the plot, but trust that the twists and turns come at you fast—and sometimes sideways.
All in all, I had fun. It didn’t go exactly where I wanted it to, but the journey was worth it. A solid 4 stars from me.

It was pretty obvious what was going to happen so I lost interest. Scrolled to the end to confirm if I was right and I was so DNFd
Mean Girls but on steroids. What?! This book was insane. It's about high school drama. It's got snobs. Backstabbing, harassment, fights, and so much more. The drama is dramaing.
