I did not like any of the characters as a possible love for Alina except Nikolai of course.
It was a little slow than I expected but I really liked the twist and turns.

The way Mal manages to make Alina boring is almost impressive. Nikolai and the final 10% of the book is what saved this for me - here’s hoping book 3 spends more time with Genya and Zoya and because boy, this series seems to hate using its most interesting characters.

That plot twist in the end thoooo....
I'm not quite sure how I feel about this book. And don't know if I liked it more than the 1st one either.
I still love Darkling and may or may not ship him with Alina. Malyen is still one of my least favourite characters in the book. I just don't see him with Alina. As a friend - yes, but lover - no.
Nikolai definitely made a book 10 times better, but I have mixed feelings about him. Sometimes I wanted to punch him in the face, the other times I was amazed of how wise and passionate He was.
It's hard for me to rate the 1st and 2nd books of this series, because I just get confused. I feel like I'm not so close with the Grisha world and Ravka. I can just hope that the final book will put my thoughts together and I'll be able to rate them properly.
For now 4,5 stars. "Shadow and Bone" 4 stars.

I fell into a long book slump while reading this. The story felt very long for me especially before Nikolai appears. But after Nikolai is in the story, it started to get better. I force myself to finish it and I did. Since it took me soo long to finish it, I already forgot half of the story.

I clearly remember that this book makes it very hard for me to finish it. But from the story, I hated mal. He's very hateable I guess. He's very annoying and I just don't want Mal to be with Alina. I love Nikolai sm.

That's all I can talk about the story because like I said, I already forgot most of the story. Thanksss
