This was very sweet and hit all the right feels.
Ashley is just trying to keep her family skihill afloat in the face of her douchebag ex's offers to buy the hill and save her. Her mother ends up finding a solution that none of them expect to turn out well, and despite Madigan's charm, Ashley is still nervous.
Although they tried to deny it, their attraction is a burning fire that will consume them both if they don't do something about it. But like doesn't make things that simple, and there are people who don't want to see them together.
Through learning new things, accepting others as they are, and finding happiness in unexpected places, Madigan and Ashley find solace in one another, and learn how important it is to have people in your life to love.

There was nothing particularly original or earth-shattering going on here, but I appreciate a story in which the characters are both in their forties, with the attendant baggage.

Come as You Are is entertaining read. Tje characters are fabulous and the plot fits perfectly with the romance.
Miss Hardy certainly knows her characters and the drama is minimum
Toward the end of the story though, Miss Hardy seems confuse with her characters. I do not think Matthew's grovel is sincere nor romantic enough. And everything seems rushed to be resolved.
Overall, it is still entertaining read.

Thank you to NetGalley for letting me read this arc. This story is incredible! It offers second chances and the character development was amazing throughout! It's a fast read and the spice didn't disappoint. There's representation for recovering addicts. I hope to see some other Blue Basin Romances in the future!

I liked the bones of this story; there’s lots of great character development and growth. But there was just way too much running away and back-and-forth in the romance for my preferences. I found Maude Alice extremely infuriating as a side character and she was on-page a lot.
Plus, I’m supposed to believe that a fifty-three-year-old man has visible abs just from doing basic exercise? I am so tired of heroes with abs — even in books with older characters I can’t get away from them! Also, I’m terrible at grasping pop culture references from my own generation, so I was completely out at sea with all of the ones in this book from before I was even born. I wish authors would ease up on adding them to books.
This all sounds really negative, but it was a beautiful story about new beginnings and redemption. It just didn’t quite hit the right notes for me.
Graphic: Addiction, Drug abuse, Panic attacks/disorders, Sexual content
Moderate: Grief, Death of parent
Minor: Alcoholism, Emotional abuse, Infidelity, Toxic relationship, Injury/Injury detail

This was adorable, fun, emotional, sexy, romantic…
I could go on.
But seriously this was great, although by the end I was getting kind of bored. But the book got me back on track.
It’s a great read, and the writer has great quotes throughout.
Writing about addiction and loss have to be two of the most difficult things to write about, but the author delivered it amazingly.

I am a sucker for romance, anyone who knows me knows that but when I got the opportunity to read a GEN X romance it was like a treat I didn’t think I needed. This is a beautiful story of people who are living for everyone except themselves
thank you to the publisher and netgalley for the arc!
the cover art for this book is what drew me in. it’s so pretty! looking at it you wouldn’t know it was a gen x romance
i loved madigan. he was like kind of a grump but also with golden retriever energy which is a great combo
the MCs didn’t seem like they were close to 50 in the way that they acted. a lot of their dialogue and interactions seemed kind of immature. also, maude alice (love her name) was the most chaotic character i’ve ever read and not in a fun way!! she’s making her daughter’s life miserable
overall it was very cute, but i wish the characters were a little more mature. i loved the fact that it showed addiction and recovery in a way that didn’t seem disrespectful.
