A pretty solid volume. Gilthunder is introduced and he is one of the most interesting side characters. Meliodas tricks Gilthunder and learns about the location of Ban and King, two members of the Sins. There are a lot of small fights and they are mostly hilarious rather than serious fights. One of my favorite characters in the entire series Ban is introduced and he is great. Overall, it was a really good volume full of action and humor.

Fox Sin of Greed: Baaaaan!
I already like him, I hope he lives up to my expectations throughout the series
I still don't like the pervy shit. I'll just be ignoring it now and forever, or until it annoys me too much.
I don't like that the girls are willing to sacrifice for Melodias. I think it's supposed to be because he is a leader and has the best interest at heart, but they're already sexualized, can't they just not be following men around too?
Random thoughts while reading:
-Holy Knight Gilthunder. Interesting connection. Wonder if he'll ever learn the truth an be reacquainted. He only knows what he's been told about the death of his father, not the truth.
-Ban asking to look at Melodias' sword...
-"You wanna know how I got these scars?"
-I think every one of seven deadly sins has a dark backstory. Ban basically let himself be captures cause he wanted to suffer. He probably felt like he deserved punishment for something. I'm intrigued.
-I really like Ban, I hope isn't flawed (like perv Melodias). And not because he's half naked this whole volume. He gives evil vibes and I like it

Still not overly connecting to the manga of this series, maybe because I know I only have 10 volumes so I won't be reading anything new, hopefully i can get into this like I did the anime

The second volume of the manga that was made into an anime of the same name. The first volume covered episodes 1 and 2 and part of episode 3. This volume covered the rest of episode three and then went on to cover episodes 4, 5, and the beginning of 6.
This volume introduces my favorite character - Ban. Not gonna lie it's because he's drawn totally hot. Also, his story during the first season of the anime is so romantic (and really stays super touching, sweet, and romantic during the entire show).
One place where the books are falling down while the show is excelling is in the fight scenes. This manga is in black in white and sometimes it is very difficult to understand what is happening. If I had not already watched the fights happen on the show I might be very confused about what was going on.
So, it is supposedly a series listed as middle grade which I assume is like 10 to 14 or something. If we get past the violence, there is still an awful lot of sexual adjacent stuff between Meliodas and Elizabeth - groping and non-consensual space invasion like lifting her skirt. This was present in the first book but then I was thinking that things would not get much past that like they do in the show. But this volume of the manga brought up some hints at rape during the prison scenes where guards are considering doing that (implied) to the Doctor's daughter.
This manga differs from the show in that Ban is the one who frees Sennett (the doctor's daughter) but then when he does he also robs her which is in character as he is a bandit but in doing so he also makes it very creepy, looking like he saved her from one rapist only to take his place in the act.
Not cool Ban, not cool.
I love the show and the reason I am reading the manga now is because I know that there are things that were not covered in the show, especially in later episodes during the second season. I am still loving the books even with the slightly rapey volume. But hey I'm an adult that read portions of 50 shades of Grey, The Handmaid's tale, and Outlander. If you have a middle-grades kid who wants to read the series.... IDK it might not actually be for kids.
