A well-crafted story giving a realistic glimpse of how difficult life must have been for women in France during WW2. The characters were warm, well-rounded and likeable, and I really felt present as the story unfolded.

This is a heartbreaking, yet inspiring story of two sisters navigating WWII and figuring out how to survive while also doing the right thing. I couldn’t put the book down, but be prepared with your tissues.
