Slightly unsure on this, I enjoyed it but then I also feel like there was something missing from it.
Romance wasn't really there until the last few chapters and with it being a Romeo and Juliet retelling, I aspired there to be a lot more. I did enjoy the plot but as stated it just lacked romance so I am 50/50 on whether I should pick up the second book and see if that changes my views.

I can see there's going to be another book lol I like the relationship the two main characters had with one another. It was wholesome even if they were violent and problematic.

I enjoyed this quite a bit and will read the sequel. it is really slow for a significant part of the book so I relied on audio to help me through the physical book. without the audio assistance I don't think I would've finished it.
I did have issues with the audiobook having inconsistent volume levels- for Juliette, the volume was fine, but for basically everyone else it was so low and difficult to hear so when I turned up the volume for them and suddenly Juliette had a talking part it was jarringly loud and I had to quickly turn volume back down only to have to turn it back up again almost immediately (like with Juliette's convos with Kathleen or with Roma). I don't understand why all the other characters besides Juliette had to be so quiet in the audiobook and I hope using the next audiobook in conjunction with the physical book won't have the same volume issues. it took away from my enjoyment, and I think if anyone is solely reading/listening to the audiobook, you will struggle hearing a lot of the book.
