Aku tidak bisa berkata bahwa ini adalah takdir yang disebabkannya sendiri. Aku juga tidak bisa berkata bahwa ini adalah hukuman yang harus dibayarnya.

Hm... rasanya hampa dan suram. Beberapa kali ngerasa kalau ceritanya terlalu bertele-tele dan too detailed, tapi mungkin ini untuk membangun suasana dan menjelaskan setting dalam cerita. Ada beberapa halaman yang memuat satu paragraf full tanpa dibedah... Rasanya gak karuan dan bikin turn off pas baca. 

Aku juga dibuat emosi selama baca perlakuan YJ. Gila kali itu orang. Aku juga menyayangkan kenapa denah desa tersebut dimuat di akhir halaman :( saranku ketika membaca ini, perlu mood/keadaan yang fine dan karena karakternya cukup banyak jadi perlu catatan mini. Terakhir, setidaknya ada hal baik dalam buku ini tentang Seowon yang dibantu oleh Paman Ahn.

About the discovery of a little girls body in the town damn, he abusive, domineering father, a security guard at the dam who disappears in the nighttime to dive in the dam the girl is found in. Who sees something crucial and says nothing. A family who enters the town on the fateful night of the girl’s death and the father and son and their relationship to the dead girl. Thus it looks back on this fateful night 7 years later and how it affects the lives of the those left alive. 
The thing about Jeong’s works, as with the Good son is that it’s set up as a thriller and though they do thrill, they ultimately pre-empt the mystery in my opinion a little too early in the sorry, such that there is no mystery of who-dunnit motivating you to stay in the story.

This book is wild. Seriously. It took me a couple days to fully immerse myself in the setting - maybe the weakest part for me. The vibes were there but I couldn’t picture the place, you know? - but eventually when the story kicked off it did not matter anymore. Genuinely surprising and chilling at points, but not too much to stop you from finishing out of pure fear. I appreciate that in a thriller.

I wasn't satisfied with the ending, but otherwise I think it was a solid thriller. Amazing portrayal of human relationships imo, characters have a lot of depth.
