Clearly my favorite of Nabokov's early work, this one shows him finding his footing as a sublime story-teller, brilliant with prose and at turns hilariously subtle. I high recommendation for The Eye.
An oddball little novella. You can catch glimpses here of the themes that would obsess Nabokov throughout his career but 'The Eye' is only mandatory reading for Nabokov obsessives.
One of Nabokov's novella's that I'd never read. Interesting, twisty, thought-provoking, bizarre, mysterious, gloomy, but a quick read that I devoured in one sitting.

"It is frightening when real life suddenly turns out to be a dream, but how much more frightening when that which one had thought a dream—fluid and irresponsible—suddenly starts to congeal into reality"
I'm going to take a wild guess and say that I misunderstood a lot of this book but whatevs this is the point of branching out! trying new things! also why does he pay so much attention to hair partings it's a bit odd

I just can't get into Nabokov. Whole time wished I was re-reading The Fall by Camus instead.
