Rachel Harrison is a fucking queen among men. Her unconventional horror once again enthralls me and grips me until the end.

It’s thought-provoking, insightful, and fully prepared to thrust you into your own mind and ask yourself if you would be prepared to live your own life, should it be handed to you on a silver platter inscribed with eternity.

Audiobook author used insufferable voices, and the characters were absolutely dull - could not bring myself to care.

I feel parched all of a sudden, is that a coincidence??

Sloane is about to turn 36 when she goes on a girls trip with her long time best friend Naomi, the free-spirited one contrasting her own play-it-safe self. Sloane is grappling with her age and girl I get it. Sometimes it sucks realizing things you didn't worry about in your 20s, you now have to. She dwells on dealing with consequences to every action she takes, stemming from having a wild girl phase that ended in an accident and loss of her college scholarship, so now everything is either carefully evaluated before she takes action, or pushed to the back and ignored if the risk isn't worth it - like when she found out her husband has cheated on her MULTIPLE times.

Meanwhile, Naomi is a freespirit who seizes every opportunity to embrace something new. She lives day to day with her long-term boyfriend. While she is eager to live each day to the fullest, it's to compensate for her boyfriend's dreams taking priority over hers, so she distracts herself instead. Ironically, she puts herself first alot, but not when it matters most.

Both women have grown since childhood, but struggle to see each other in the new light. Instead, both hold resentment for each others mistakes but fearing to rock the boat and shove it to the back - until they are turned into Vampires and are running from their intense cravings. Now, everything is on the table and the two women have to figure out how to fix their undead lives, which fighting an insatiable thirst.

I loved So Thirsty! I love the characters - even though I really wanted to punch Naomi - for all of their flaws, and I loved the insane connection they had with each other. Even though Naomi is selfish in forcing Sloane out into situations she really doesn't want to be in, she does it to pull Sloane out from her deep, deep, DEEP ocean of self wallowing. Sloane made a mistake and lost too much control, but Naomi is always there for her and always ready to give her a chance to still embrace life even when you mess up along the way.
