There were some amazing lines but it dragged on and it was hard to conceptualize how he actually got from this place to the next. it was a nice tribute but wasn't for me

This is a lyrical novel about a young man at a crisis in his life deciding to take a journey to see if he can discover anything about the life of his mysterious deceased grandfather. The journey and discoveries were a little too odd for me. Also while I found the writing beautiful on a sentence or even paragraph level, it felt so slow as a whole.

Beautiful writing, the storyline was a bit convenient, but it was something I was able to look past. I would definitely recommend this!

I really enjoyed reading this book a lot and it helped me put my own life into perspective. I also related a lot to Mara’s character and I really enjoyed watching her relationship with Arthur blossom as they continued to journey together. I also liked the relationship between Arthur and his father, and how similar it is to Arthur’s father’s relationship with his father. I didn’t fully like how the story ended, but I did like that Arthur empathized with Jack, and offered him a chance of redemption.

Absolutely not what I expected
Description of this book is confusing and misleading
But it is definitely worth reading ❤️
