This book was an interesting one for me. I felt that some things weren’t explained in the beginning as they should… this created some confusion for me. Like how we don’t find out the real story about Kaitlin and some restraining order until page 330. But other than that, I felt that this character was the right fit for this kind of emotional journey… but how hasn’t he read the book?? 🤣🤣🤣

I really enjoyed reading this book a lot and it helped me put my own life into perspective. I also related a lot to Mara’s character and I really enjoyed watching her relationship with Arthur blossom as they continued to journey together. I also liked the relationship between Arthur and his father, and how similar it is to Arthur’s father’s relationship with his father. I didn’t fully like how the story ended, but I did like that Arthur empathized with Jack, and offered him a chance of redemption.

This book is beautifully written. I love the small details to the mystery that I got to piece together as I read through it. The dialogs in this book is natural and interesting. Towards the end of the book I was surprised by the ending. So many emotional rolacoster ride in this book. Highly recommend reading this if you like emotional/sad books.

This is an adventure book, wrapped in mystery, driven by clues, and riddled with unpredictable twists and turns. All the primary characters are a little morally grey, some more than others. That said, in the end I wound up feeling compassion, or at least understanding for them.
