Said it before, and I'll say it again. I like the historical fiction, I like the retelling, I like the accuracy where it matters.
I like that I have a feel for who Steve is and where he came from in a way very few other comics bother to do. I like that the writer clearly knows the importance of who he was at heart, and how that has shaped what Captain America became.
If you need a good Cap story, this is it. I'm not a huge fan of the mystical angle, but unlike the last run that started SO strong, where it felt like it got out of hand IMO (Blazing Saddles style at the end almost) this seems more tightly controlled. Less.. unbelievable, and I feel like the character isn't being lost in favor of telling a bombastic plotline.
